Did you know that drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children under 5?
While this can be difficult to hear, it is a very real and often preventable risk. In many cases, it happens quickly and silently, during brief lapses in supervision.
At Swim Smart Infant Aquatics®, our mission is to give children the skills they need to respond in those critical moments—while also helping parents feel more confident and prepared around water.
How are these lessons different from traditional swim lessons?
Not all swim lessons are designed with the same goal. Traditional swim lessons are often centered around comfort and play. Survival swim, inspired by methods from Infant Aquatics®, is designed with a different priority: teaching children how to save themselves in the water. Survival swim lessons build a conditioned, automatic response through repetition and consistency. This means your child doesn’t have to remember what to do—they do it instinctively.

What other benefits do swim lessons provide?
A study from Griffith University surveyed 7,000 kids under 5. This study found that children who swam regularly scored ahead on every cognitive measure tested including: language, math, memory, and social development. Getting your kid safe in and around the pool is #1, however this study shows its so much more than that!
