The Swim-Float-Swim program, inspired by methods from Infant Aquatics, teaches children how to move through the water independently while maintaining the ability to rest and breathe. Children learn to swim with their face in the water, roll onto their back to float and recover, and then continue swimming—repeating this sequence until they reach safety. This creates a reliable, self-rescue skill that works even in unexpected situations, building both confidence and real-world water competence.

What a Typical Week Looks Like

(KEEP IN MIND: Every child is different and may progress at different rates)

Week 1: Water Introduction & Breath Control
Your child learns proper breath holding, submersions, and body and head positioning. I will also be establishing a target meaning your child will be looking for either my hands, the bar, or the steps.

Week 2: Back to Belly and Strong Swim
Your child begins swimming short distances and flipping from their back to belly to acquire the target. I am working on getting strong kicks to help propel the child while ensuring they are maintaining a proper head position.

Week 3: Floating
This is one of the tougher weeks as they child may feel as if they are falling. It is a new sensation for the child. I will work on getting a proper float considering their head orientation and body position. After week 3 and week 4, the child will be able to fully support themselves and sustain a float for several minutes.

Week 4 & 5 : SWIM-FLOAT-SWIM & Real Life Scenario Practice
Your child will be learning what is expected of them through verbal cues and repetition. They will start to understand the why and what they need to do. I will practice real-life scenarios with your child to ensure they are equipped with handling the scenario at hand (clothing, unexpected entries, sustaining float for extended period of time). They will also start to be putting together the SWIM-FLOAT-SWIM

Week 6: Endurance and FUN!!!
Your child will be SWIM-FLOAT-SWIMMING distance, strengthen endurance, and have FUN with your child with their new acquired skills.
